Executive Director: Shawna Perkins
Shawna Perkins is a native of Yuma. She has earned an Associates of Fine Arts & Dance and
a Bachelor’s of Elementary and Secondary education. She was a teacher of Dance Education at Yuma High School for
four years, and also taught jazz, tap, ballet and modern dance at a local dance studio.
Music Director: Jan Jackson
Jan Jackson is a native of Yuma and in her 23rd year teaching Music Education. Jan attended
Glendale College, Brigham Young University and Northern Arizona Universities. Jan is in her 8th year teaching at
James B. Rolle Elementary, the very school she attended as a child. Jan loves musical theatre and has a special
talent for it. She has had leading roles in many musicals and operas over the years such as: Oliver, Carrousel,
The Barber of Seville, Oklahoma, The Marriage of Figaro, The Mikado, Fiddler on the Roof, Riggelitto, Macbeth,
Falstaff, to name a few. Jan has taken her love for Musical Theatre with her to the elementary grades. Jan is
so very proud of the musical skills her students have gained. Jan loves to perform herself, but is now even
more rewarded as she watches the students within her realm excel on stage.
Assistant Director & Choreographer: Valerie Hall
Valerie Hall is a recent transplant to Yuma. She’s been dancing all of her life and choreographing for various
theaters and performing groups for eighteen years. She loves live theater and has been involved in more than forty
productions both on stage and behind the scenes.
